In today’s digital world you have what seems to be an overabundance of choice when it comes to anything weddings. Your photographer will be one of the most important decisions you have to make for your wedding (the most important decision is that guy or gal you are marrying of course
) Sure sure, I may have a biased opinion here but while I do please here me out
While there are many things that are of extreme importance for your day, your photographer is the person who you will be entrusting to capture your day. Your photos will be one of the only lasting memories of your wedding day. A wedding is, in most peoples case, the biggest one day event they will ever plan, which is why your photographer is so important. A professional photographer will be able to see moments, and see light in ways that uncle Joe won’t.
It is extremely important that you and your photographer jive. They will be with you for the whole day, from getting ready to the last dance a photographer must be on the ball the whole day. So why spend all that money on a photographer you can’t jive with. You want to be able to trust your photographer, and most importantly be comfortable with them. The best photos I have gotten are the ones where my brides are totally comfortable with me and trust me fully, which is why meeting with a potential photographer is so important.
With the digital era most photographers will not only have a website but a blog. A blog is a great place to get to know what the photographer is like and to see their latest and greatest. From here you can see their style and decide if you would like to meet them. The next step? Call them!!! I LOVE getting calls from potential brides. I love hearing about how they met each other, get to know their personality a little and help them with any questions they might have. Photographers are some of the friendliest folk you can meet, so don’t be shy!
Each photographer has a different way of doing things, some photographers will not include digital negatives, some include it in all their packages. This isn’t necessarily a bad thing as long as you are comfortable with what they are offering. Some photographers won’t hand out the digital files until a year after the wedding date for examply.
Personally, I include the digital negatives in all my packages, but I also have wedding albums built into most of my packages. When I meet a potential client, one of the first things I like to do is show them my wedding album sample. I LOVE my wedding albums!!! I have an amazing company that does just the best work. Once the wedding album is in their hands they see why getting an album is worth it. To have such a tangable, real, and beautiful book to tell the story of your day, it’s just gold! :) drooling…uhhh, sorry, not only do I include the digital files but I don’t want to just give someone digital files and then run for the hills. I want to be able to give my clients something they can hold, something they can touch, something real!
There are a lot of wedding photographers in Winnipeg to choose from, so what makes me stand out? Simple. Simple. That’s it. I like to keep things simple, no hidden costs, no gimmicks. Your wedding planning is stressful enough, I would hate to add to that. From designing the wedding album, to getting your pictures, I make it as painless and simple as humanly possible!
Oh and one more thing. Make sure to have FUN on your wedding day!
